The King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks built 1.2 miles of the Lake to Sound Trail, which will run 16 miles from the south end of Lake Washington to Puget Sound.

When finished, the Lake to Sound Trail will link the cities of Renton, Tukwila, SeaTac, Burien, and Des Moines, and connect four existing regional trails.

In this project, the County built a 12-foot-wide, paved trail and a 110-foot-long pedestrian and bicycle bridge across the Black River.

This project was part of the trail’s Segment A, which runs from the Green River Trail near Fort Dent Park in Tukwila through the Black River Riparian Forest to Naches Avenue Southwest in Renton.

About 60 percent of the overall corridor already is complete.
