The City of Kenmore used an RCO grant to renovate Moorlands Neighborhood Park, a 3.6-acre, underdeveloped neighborhood park in the southeast corner of Kenmore next to Moorlands Elementary School. The City redeveloped a baseball field, renovated a T-ball practice field, installed fencing and a children’s playground, renovated a small shelter for protection from the weather, paved the parking lot and pathways, improved the park entry, built restrooms and a picnic shelter, installed park furniture, landscaped the park, and built a stage for community programs. The project improved the quality of the existing recreation facilities, enhanced access for people with disabilities, and expanded the opportunities for outdoor recreation in the park. Moorlands Neighborhood Park is the only park in the southeast corner of Kenmore.
