The Nooksack Valley School District used this grant to convert a grass field to an artificial turf field for use by multiple sports such as soccer, football, lacrosse, and field hockey. The new field will provide underserved communities with more access to athletic experiences, providing all ages with a safe facility for quality practice and competition, ultimately supporting academic and personal growth. In addition to hosting an all-district, fifth-grade track competition, community youth sports, physical education classes, a middle school track event, and families using the space to practice, the high school field will serve as a gathering place for community events.
